Wolfie by Czech filmmaker Kastner triumphs;
special mentions go to two Italian premieres, Fantas and Lost & Found
An engaged and passionate audience at Auditorium Bertoli (who enthusiastically applauded and supported the most moving films) set the stage for the special Ennesimo Film Festival evening within the cultural program of festivalfilosofia 2026. Six international short films explored the theme of Chaos, offering the audience original and profound perspectives on the unexpected and the complexity of our time.
The expert jury, composed of Rocco Ronchi (Professor of Theoretical Philosophy), Valeria Cristofaro (Lecturer in Audiovisual Disciplines), and Massimo Po (Deputy Mayor of Nonantola and Graphic Artist), unanimously selected the overall winner of the evening:
Best Short Film: Wolfie by Philippe Kastner “A work capable of telling with rare visual poetry how a new order can emerge from chaos, transforming mistakes and the unexpected into the engine of an unexpected harmony.”
The jury also awarded a Special Mention to Fantas by Halima Elkhatabi (Italian Premiere): “Recognized as the most genuinely cinematic and rich title of the selection, bringing two worlds into collision with extraordinary expressive force.”
Completing the list of winners was the vote of the audience in the venue, which awarded another Italian premiere, Lost & Found by Wiktoria Kwoka. An intense and touching drama about two lives on the edge that captivated the Sassuolo audience.
Both mentions go to short films presented as Italian premieres at Ennesimo, confirming the international outlook and the quality of the curatorial research brought to the region.
