The 10thedition of the Ennesimo Film Festival

It would take the best of screenwriters to tell a 10-year-long story. The changes, the news, the women, the knights, the arms and the loves. Already love. We have to tell you something, that time has come, to declare it, to tell us openly, without delay. But before doing so, we couldn’t help but open the scrapbook and look at how we have changed. From 3, we became 30, then 300, then 3,000, and now we can’t even count ourselves especially if we look at how many spectators have entered the cinema with us and how many students have attended Academy classes. Would it be possible for everyone of us to sit in Menotti Square together? Ten years are endless, as were the steps leading to the third floor, to the Culture Office in the Municipality of Fiorano. We walked down them to meet Morena and Marco to talk about this wacky idea: to make Fiorano a place where cinema is born. Did we succeed? No need to answer that, but in the meantime Marco became Mayor and the middle school class that took the first Ennesimo class in school graduated and they all got their driver’s licenses. We have not yet told you that word that is here pulsing through us. But if every Festival hides a quest, that word is hidden in the catalog or here, right here! If you find it, pick it up, underline it, protect it, then write it down and shout it out because it is one of the most fleeting and difficult in the Italian language. That word is WE and it encapsulates each and every one of us precisely. All the WE who have passed through Ennesimo. Who have believed in it, protected it, encouraged it and cared for it. Who have carried it around Italy and over the Alps. Who hated us or to whom we left a little piece of our hearts in our care. If you basically turn this NOI (WE, in Italian), around and read this page upside down, you will discover that it is nothing more than a 10 with an N symbolizing the Nth in mathematics: Nth like Ennesimo. And you will discover that without you, there would never have been a WE.
