Six Short Films from Around the World and Three International Premieres
At Auditorium Bertoli to Explore “Chaos” and the Value of the Unexpected
The customary appointment presented by Ennesimo Film Festival returns as part of the festivalfilosofia 2026 cultural program. The screening is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at 9:00 PM at the Auditorium Bertoli in Sassuolo with Non è l’Ennesimofestivalfilosofia.
At the heart of the evening are six international short films united by the irruption of the unpredictable into human experience—a force capable of shattering the viewer’s certainties and leaving them transformed. From the appearance of the unusual in daily routine to the festive disorder of a carnival, from political tensions to chance encounters, the selection explores how the unexpected redefines the boundaries of reality and compels human beings to redraw their inner geography.

Among the six featured titles are three premieres: the Italian premiere of Fantas (Canada) by Halima Elkhatabi, an urban odyssey in which a horse disrupts the geometry of a working-class neighborhood; the Italian premiere of Lost & Found (Poland) by Wiktoria Kwoka, an intense drama about two lives on the edge; and the foreign premiere of Missing Ticket (Belgium) by Kelvin Janssen and Elisa De Kuysscher, a wild animated chase on a train filled with strange creatures. Completing the selection are an exploration of grief during the Rio Carnival in Samba Infinito (Brazil/France) by Leonardo Martinelli, a hallucinatory journey escaping a regime in Winter in March (Estonia/Armenia) by Natalia Mirzoyan, and the visual fable Wolfie (Czech Republic) by Philippe Kastner, where the chaos of a mistake challenges perfection to reveal an unexpected gift.
At the end of the screening, the jury—composed of Rocco Ronchi (Professor of Theoretical Philosophy), Valeria Cristofaro (Lecturer in Audiovisual Disciplines), and Massimo Po (Deputy Mayor of Nonantola and Graphic Artist)—will announce the winning film of the evening
