There are 400 classes involved in three regions, for a total of seven thousand students.
With 400 classes involved, totalling almost 7,000 students from nursery, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools, the 2024-2025 school year is set to be the most important ever for Ennesimo Academy.
Launched in 2017, this project promoted by TILT Associazione Giovanile attempts to bridge the gap between traditional teaching and the use of audiovisual media as a teaching tool. Thanks to image education courses, students develop the ability to understand, interpret and critically analyse the audiovisual content they encounter in their daily lives, transforming them from mere spectators into conscious and active users. This year, almost 7,000 students will be involved in over 3,200 hours of lessons and workshops, for the first time in three different regions: Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Calabria. In the province of Modena alone, 13 municipalities are involved, plus Cesena, while there will be three municipalities in the Marche region – Recanati, Lorenzo and Castelfidardo – and in Calabria, educators will work in the municipalities of Rombiolo and San Calogero to produce a TV series about the Calabrian territory.
«These results make us truly proud and encourage us to continue along the path we embarked upon years ago, striving for ever greater improvement throughout this school year. Thanks to a well-established and constantly growing network, Ennesimo Academy is now a shining example of collaboration between public and private bodies and the third sector, emphasises Federica Ferro, president of TILT. In addition to 19 municipalities, the project will involve two universities, three film production companies, four museum centres, 15 cinemas scattered throughout the region and six specialist magazines and publishing houses, as well as many sponsors and partners who have been with us for years on this project and whom we cannot thank enough. Now,’ concludes Federica Ferro, ‘we are entering the heart of the project that will lead us to the milestone of the tenth edition of the Ennesimo Film Festival, scheduled from 27 April to 4 May 2025.».
There’s more. Thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Economics and Communication at Unimore, it has been possible to collect, in the last year alone, around 3,000 pieces of feedback from students and teachers through interviews and questionnaires. Important data has emerged: 92% of respondents said they enjoy going to the cinema, while 62% – especially students – mainly watch films via streaming. In the classroom, the courses offered by Ennesimo Academy were widely appreciated: both students and teachers emphasised how the topics covered, through a practical approach and clear presentation of the subjects, contributed to making the experience stimulating and engaging. In addition, 95% of teachers felt that the content covered was clear or very clear. Most students expressed a desire to explore the Ennesimo Academy project further with additional practical activities, while teachers emphasised the effectiveness of audiovisuals in facilitating understanding.
