The partnership between Ennesimo and the Italian Space Agency renewed for the third year

The unique collaboration brings Maria Virelli to Fiorano Modenese in the year of great space missions

For the third consecutive year, a unique national partnership has been confirmed between the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and a short film festival: Ennesimo Film Festival. This collaboration returns at a time when the latest lunar missions are refocusing space exploration on our satellite, ushering in a new era of advanced technology and scientific discovery. From the first extraordinary “gaze” at the stars to contemporary explorations, the ability to interpret the world through scientific imagery—the core connection to a festival like Ennesimo, which places images at its very center—has never stopped evolving.

Within the festival’s program, the Italian Space Agency will take center stage with a special session of the “Film Trades” series, merging scientific outreach, technology, and visual culture. On Sunday, May 3rd, at 11:00 AM at the BLA in Fiorano Modenese, the audience will be guided on a journey starting from deep space and arriving at a new awareness of our own planet. The guest of honor will be Maria Virelli, Mission Manager for the Italian Space Agency’s COSMO-SkyMed satellite constellation, who will lead a discovery of the most advanced Earth observation technologies. Admission is free and open to all.

«Renewing this partnership with the Italian Space Agency confirms that Ennesimo is a place where the language of images meets world knowledge,» says Federica Ferro, President of TILT, the youth association behind Ennesimo Film Festival. «There is no gaze more radical than the one coming from space, and we are proud to be the first short film festival in the country to build an ongoing dialogue with ASI. This collaboration belongs to us deeply because it is about the act of looking—and looking, after all, is everything we do.»
