A prestigious national award that once again certifies the excellent work carried out. In recent days, in Palermo, representatives of TILT, a youth association that organises, among other activities, the Ennesimo Film Festival and SFIDE, the Festival della Sconfitta, received the award for image education projects from the Cinema e Immagini per la Scuola (CIPS) competition. This achievement was made possible by the high quality standards of Ennesimo Academy, a project that is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and has involved over 17,000 students from 800 classes throughout Italy over the past nine years.

The 2024-2025 school year saw a record number of participants, with more than 7,000 students from a total of 400 classes taking part.

Funded by the National Cinema and Images for Schools Plan (CIPS), promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Merit, last year’s projects covered three regions – Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Calabria – transforming classrooms into creative workshops where young people became conscious storytellers. Ennesimo Academy, in collaboration with local authorities, film festivals and schools, teaches students the language of images, making them not only critical viewers but also active authors. Once again this year, large numbers of primary and secondary schools are expected to participate.

«A great achievement, – comments Federica Ferro, president of TILT, – which is the crowning glory, ten years after the start of the first projects, of meticulous and painstaking work, capable of responding to the needs of a rapidly changing society that is always in need of one thing: image education. Attention to detail, the development of critical thinking and the proactivity of young people in taking centre stage are the ingredients that enable Ennesimo Academy to offer a high-quality programme. However, when it comes to the award, we must above all thank the educators: hundreds of people who, over the course of ten years, have followed continuous training courses and managed to bring all this to life. The recognition is also and above all for them».
